How long do plants live in the Sagegreenlife system?
With proper care, the plants live their natural lifespan. We recommend purchasing a plant care program contract with Sagegreenlife or a certified affiliate to assure longevity. With a contract through Sagegreenlife, we also provide plant replacement.
What kind of species of plants live in your system?
We select from a variety of tropical foliage and ferns because of their combination of beauty and heartiness. The species will differ if the wall is interior vs exterior - and for exterior projects, will differ by location (i.e. Chicago vs. San Diego vs. Pheonix). We have expert horticulturists on staff that designs each living wall project and select the appropriate species.
Should I worry about insects?
One of the key advantages of our living wall system is that the growing medium that holds our plants is made of layers of inert basalt rock fiber, which are not habitable for insects. With a plant care program walls also recieve monthly pesticide treatments.
